Weekend Features
Across both days, visitors can witness demonstrations of ski racing and flat bottom boats. These activities provide a showcase of both skill and speed, appealing to fans of classic and contemporary boating.
Saturday Schedule
The festivities on Saturday commence at 11:00am. Highlights include demonstrations of blown alcohol displacement and specialised boats, as well as ski racing exhibitions. Throughout the afternoon, there will be heats featuring boats of similar types.
Sunday Schedule and Attractions
Sunday begins at 10:00am with more heats and demonstrations. In the adjacent lawn area, the Coffee & Chrome Car Club will present a display of nostalgic cars. This addition enhances the event’s classic atmosphere and offers something for car enthusiasts as well.
Food and Refreshments
Food and coffee vans will be available on both days for attendees to enjoy as they watch the action. The Goolwa Aquatic Club Bar will also be open, providing further refreshments for everyone throughout the weekend.

This two-day event celebrates speedboat racing of a bygone era at Goolwa. Throughout the weekend spectators can enjoy a variety of boats ranging from nostalgic wooden craft to modern high-performance machines, both on display and on the water.
Experience the sights and sounds of classic and modern race boats. A rare opportunity to be able to get close to the boats in the pits and see some heart pumping action on the water.
It’s a weekend full of beautiful vintage, classic and modern race & speedboats strutting their stuff at the Goolwa Aquatic Club.
You will see vintage wooden hydroplanes, skiffs, classic old wooden race, and ski boats, plus fibreglass classic race & ski boats right up to modern style race boats.
When not in the water the boats will be on display in the pit area and accessible to the public who want a closer look.
The event is fully catered and family friendly with food and coffee vans and the lawned banks for spectators to set up and get comfortable.
The GAC clubrooms are licensed, and Bombora on the River is adjacent for those that want to eat in style (recommend that you book)
This is a full two-day event with the boats taking part in formalised heats where common styles of craft take to the water and put on a demonstration of the golden years of speedboat events.
Admission is FREE both days for spectators.
It’s a fantastic family day with something for everyone to enjoy.
