Learn to Sail
The Goolwa Aquatic Club hosts a very successful sail training program for beginners and the more experienced. Many of our junior sailors go on to be involved in dinghy racing and compete at State and National level. The club uses Pacer Dinghies for our basic Learn to Sail classes as well as Opti's as the single handed sail training boat.
The course covering the basics of Dinghy Sailing, (7-15yo) . Participants will learn the theory and practical aspects of sailing a dinghy.
It's fun, safe and a great introduction to the sport of sailing. All equipment is supplied including the PFDs, helmets and boats.
Course runs for 3 hours x 4 days and is instructed by Qualified Australian Sailing Instructors.
Students who have completed this course multiple times will be encouraged to move forward in the sport and may be unenrolled. ( any queries please contact Bruce 0434708073.)
Sunday Junior Coaching will take on a new format in 2020.
Some Morning Coaching clinics will be run Early and Mid Season. 9-12pm
Non Clinic weeks will involve Rigging checks and Brief On Land coaching prior to on Water coaching being combined with the afternoon racing.
Junior racing/coaching will occur in conjunction with racing at 1pm.
Final dates and times of clinics etc will be confirmed prior to season start.
This program requires you to have your own boat. ( The club does have some boats available for lease.)
